Believing the best in people usually brings the best out of people. So the question is…do you believe the best in others? I am convinced that all people have potential. If people will only believe in themselves, they can reach their potential and become the individuals they were created to be.   And here’s how I think of it as I interact with people; You’re all that!

There are high spots in all of our lives and most of them have come about through encouragement from someone else. I don’t care how great, how famous, or successful a man or woman may be, each hungers for applause. Don’t you find that to be true? Everyone wants their life to matter! Everyone wants to feel significant. Don’t you?

You see, nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Too often we want to help people with what we know instead of caring for them because of who we are. There isn’t a person in the world that doesn’t need other people. If we’re honest, the issue often isn’t whether we need others; the issue is, how much do we need others?

When you believe in people, when you see each person with potential, every day is a great day. Why? Because every morning brings a day in which someone’s life can change. What a wonderful gift! If you believe in people, each day can hold the same promise for you.

Life holds that promise. I really try to believe in people and see the best in them. At times though, my perspective can also be a great weakness. I’m sometimes too trusting and I desire to empower others before they’re ready. And it has gotten me into trouble! But I’m willing to live with the risk because the rewards for others are so great. I love to see people succeed.

Think about the people who have made a difference in your life; the teacher who make you believe you could achieve; the boss who gave you a chance to show that you could do it; the counselor who let you know you had what it takes to change and have a better life; the man or woman who love you enough to say, “I do”. Not only were they there at pivotal times, in many cases they probably created those pivotal times in your life.

In almost every instance where the impact was positive, the person believed in you. He or she probably saw something in you that perhaps you didn’t even see in yourself. Wouldn’t you like to be that person to others? If the answer is yes, then try to love others and see them as “all that!”. If you have a family, start with your spouse and kids. Some of you are married, and your spouse isn’t sure you think they’re all that! You need to make sure they understand they are. Sometimes you have to stop looking at the situation with a filter and walk by faith and not by sight. Believe the best in others and you will bring out their best.

Re: You’re All That!!

I believe that all people are "All That" in their own God given way. I act in faith and support them in their " All that", God given talent. I give them encouragement by allowing that talent to freely move as God would have it and not as how I think it should be used. I allow Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to freely work in their lives, so that we can together be "All That". I freely love others as Jesus has loved me.
